Day 1: Guatemala City - Antigua

Arrive into Guatemala City at (Time TBC), where our driver will be there to greet you and transfer you directly to your lovely charm hotel in Antigua. Spend an afternoon/evening enjoying this magical colonial town, considered by some to be the most beautiful in the world. Walk its romantic cobble stone streets and enjoy fine cuisine at one of the many excellent gourmet restaurants in the area. A great way to start your Guatemala tour!

Day 2: Antigua (Free Day)

Day 3: Antigua - Chichicastenango - Lake Atitlan
Today our private driver will pick you up at 8:00 a.m. to continue with your exciting Guatemala tour and take you on a panoramic (~ 2 h) drive to visit the mystical city of Chichicastenango (Thursday & Sunday only, otherwise straight to Lake Atitlán). Located at 2500 meters above sea level, this city is famous for its market on Thursdays & Sundays, where spats of traditionally dressed villagers in a kaleidoscope of colors, come to sell their very colorful textiles, fruits, vegetables and flowers. Also worth a visit is the peaceful yet colorful cemetery. After lunch, depart for magical Lake Atitlán with direct transfer to your hotel. Spend the afternoon visiting the lake side village of Panajachel, enjoy a breathtaking sunset followed by a romantic dinner, or simply relax in your deluxe lake side hotel.

Day 4: Lake Atitlan (Indigenous Villages Boat Tour)

Take a private boat tour to the many lakeside villages around Lake Atitlán. Your “lanchero” (boat driver) will pick you at 9:00 a.m. from your hotel and take you by boat to three of the local villages along the shore of the lake on a cultural Guatemala tour. Your guide will share many insights on local customs and traditions with you. Enjoy the spectacular scenery the lake has to offer and learn more about the villagers, whose traditional costumes still vary from one village to the other, as well as their history. We recommend having lunch in Santiago Atitlán at Posada de Santiago, at Restaurante El Pescador, or at a local restaurant in Panajachel. Please ask your guide for recommendations. Day 5: Lake Atitlan - Pacific Coast

Day 7: Pacific Coast - Cobán
Today our private driver will pick you up at 8:00 a.m. and take you (~ 9 h drive) to your hotel in Cobán. We will make one stop for lunch in rout (not included) and arrive around 5:00 pm. Cobán has a huge wildlife that lives particularly in the mountains and inside the vast cave system of the area, which makes it an interesting visit to explorers in every Guatemala tour. One of the most interesting specimens of the plants that grow in the region is the Monja Blanca, the national flower. Additionally, its forests serve as a natural habitat for the Quetzal bird.

Day 8: Cobán (Semuc Champey)
Today, your driver will pick you up at 8:00 a.m. for your private drive (~ 3 h) to visit the majestic Semuc Champey, a beautiful series of small ponds and pools on a natural land bridge that crosses the Cahabón River. In the Maya Kechi language, Semuc Champey means “Agua Sagrada” (Sacred Water). The Cahabón River submerges itself at the entrance of Semuc Champey and resurfaces about 400 meters later after it passes this natural limestone bridge suspended with beautiful crystal clear ponds. In this unique natural formation you have water with shades of light green emerald to dark blue sapphire. Return to the hotel in the afternoon.
SEMUC CHAMPEY TOUR: Pick up by your private driver at 8:00 a.m. from your hotel to Semuc Champey.

Day 9: Coban - Peten
Be picked up at 8:00 a.m. from your hotel in Coban and depart in a private air conditioned vehicle to the mystical region of Peten jungle (~5 hr drive). Spend the evening relaxing to the sounds of the teeming Peten Jungle and Lake Peten Itza. Rest up and get ready for an awe inspiring day of archeology.
GROUND TRANSPORT: 8:00 a.m. pick up from hotel for private ground transfer to Flores in Lake Peten Itza (~5 hr drive).

Day 10: Peten (Tikal Tour)

At 9:00 a.m., after breakfast, your private guide and transport will pick you up at your hotel and take you to explore Tikal, one of the largest and most magnificent Mayan archeological cities in existence, which in its heyday (c. 700 AD,) was the capital of a vast Mayan empire. During this Guatemala tour your expert guide will share many insights on this Mayan city and provide a feel for the mysteries of this ancient culture. Have lunch in the midst of Mayan ruins and breathtaking flora and fauna; return in the late afternoon and spend the evening relaxing lake side, or opt for a visit & possibly dinner in the lovely town of Flores, the capital of the Petén region.

Day 11: Peten (Free Morning) - Guatemala City

Free morning to enjoy the many attractions the Peten Region has to offer. You could opt for a morning tour of the romantic archeological site of Yaxha/Topoxte (highly recommended), or any of the other sites and attractions of the region based on your specific interest. Peten also boasts the largest protected tropical forest area in Central America, whose areas amazing fauna and flora, lakes, rivers, lagoons, caves, etc.. make it a perfect place to engage in all sorts of adventurous activities. Or of course, simply relax lakeside, soaking up the sun and enjoying the natural sounds of the rainforest…. Be transferred to the airport in Flores at 4:30 p.m. for your 6:30 p.m. flight back to Guatemala City with immediate transfer to your hotel in Guatemala City.

AIR TRANSPORT: 6:30 p.m. departure from Flores on TAG flight with arrival in Guatemala City at 7:30 p.m.
